ENERGY33 Successfully Completes Second Engineering & Construction Management Contract for a 27MW STX Cogeneration Power Plant in Honduras

Oct. 13, 2025 / PRZen / MIAMI — ENERGY33, a leading energy project developer and engineering firm focused on Latin America, is proud to announce the successful completion of its second engineering and construction management contract for a 27MW STX cogeneration power plant in Honduras. The project was executed in partnership with PARK ENERGY, the primary energy provider of the Green Valley Industrial Park in Santa Barbara, Honduras.

This milestone follows ENERGY33’s previous achievement in November 2022, when it delivered an 8.5MW power plant utilizing Hyundai medium speed generators. Together, these projects enhance the industrial park’s energy capacity, supporting a diverse mix of multinational clients across textiles, automotive, apparel, and light manufacturing sectors.

The 27MW STX cogeneration plant, together with the existing 14.9MW cogeneration facility designed and built by ENERGY33’s founders in 2006 as well as the 8.5MW Hyundai power plant delivered in 2022, now operate seamlessly in parallel. This integrated system ensures a reliable, efficient, and cost-effective power supply for Green Valley Industrial Park.

ENERGY33 managed the full scope of the projects—from conceptual, basic, to detailed engineering—and oversaw the integration and coordination of civil, mechanical, and electrical contractors. Its mission: to deliver robust, scalable power solutions that meet the dynamic needs of the park’s tenants.

Gustavo Raudales, General Manager of PARK ENERGY’s parent company, stated, “Thanks to ENERGY33’s expert management, both projects were completed on time and within budget. Their dependable partnership is crucial as we continue expanding our energy portfolio.”

Jose Benitez, EVP of Engineering at ENERGY33, added, “It is a privilege to support PARK ENERGY and Green Valley Industrial Park in delivering dependable, cost-efficient electricity to its diverse client base—helping maintain Honduras’s position as a modern manufacturing hub.”

  • Mensa Members Put Brainpower to Work for Literacy

Mensa Members Put Brainpower to Work for Literacy

Northern New Jersey Mensa chapter expands access to proven materials that make reading easier for every child

Oct. 10, 2025 / PRZen / MADISON, N.J. — You don’t have to be a genius to make a difference — but a few people known for their brainpower are helping more kids learn to read.

Northern New Jersey Mensa, part of the national high-IQ organization known for bringing bright minds together, has launched a free online library of proven literacy resources for parents and teachers across the country. One of Mensa’s founding goals is to use intelligence for the betterment of humanity — and this project puts that idea into practice.

The materials, now available on the group’s website, are designed to help children master the fundamentals of reading through clear, phonics-based instruction.

“First, you must learn to read. After that, you can read to learn,” said Laurie Endicott Thomas, a member of the Northern New Jersey Mensa local chapter. “We are sharing these free resources to make it as easy as possible for parents, teachers, and tutors to teach children — and adults! — to read.”

The online collection revives classic tools that have helped generations of students learn to read. Titles such as Blend Phonics by Hazel Loring and Noah Webster’s Spelling Book focus on decoding the written word step by step — a skill that builds true reading comprehension instead of simple word memorization. A featured chapter from David Mulroy’s The War Against Grammar reminds readers that understanding language structure is just as essential to literacy as sounding out letters. Together, the materials form a clear path from learning the alphabet to reading with confidence.

To spread the word locally, volunteers printed business cards with QR codes linking directly to the literacy site and distributed them at community events, from street fairs to school board meetings.

October marks American Mensa’s 65th anniversary, a fitting time to celebrate the organization’s long-standing commitment to learning and service. Through national efforts such as the Mensa Foundation’s Excellence in Reading program, Mensa encourages children and families to read together — aloud, in groups, or solo — to build comprehension, confidence, and a lifelong love of books.

Throughout October, American Mensa is also offering discounted admission testing — 10% off Private Testing and 50% off local testing events — as part of its annual Membership Month celebration. Learn more at us.mensa.org/testing.

By helping more children learn to read, members hope to make Mensa’s mission personal — one word at a time. Free literacy materials are available at nnjmensa.org/reading.

American Mensa is an organization open to anyone who scores in the top 2 percent on an accepted standardized intelligence test. Mensa has about 45,000 U.S. members and more than 140,000 members globally.

  • Virginia Doctor Calls for Reform of Physician Non-Competes That Limit Patient Access

Virginia Doctor Calls for Reform of Physician Non-Competes That Limit Patient Access

Phoenix Advocacy Network releases a policy statement highlighting how overly broad non-compete clauses keep doctors from practicing and worsen patient-care shortages across Virginia and the U.S.

Oct. 6, 2025 / PRZen / DALLAS — Physician non-compete clauses are facing growing scrutiny as health-care access declines nationwide. In Virginia, these restrictions are enforceable only when “narrowly tailored” and aligned with public policy, yet many contracts still bar doctors from serving their own communities.

Dr. Sharisse Stephenson, a board-certified neurologist and founder of Phoenix Advocacy Network, experienced how extreme language can limit ability to practice. I had a non-compete clause which prohibited me from practicing within an entire region of a state. For physicians who want to keep serving patients, that isn’t a contract term; it’s extinction,” she said.

Virginia law already restricts non-competes for low-wage workers (Va. Code § 40.1-28.7:8), and as of July 1 2025, the ban will expand to non-exempt employees. The Federal Trade Commission has likewise proposed a nationwide rule eliminating most non-competes, citing their harm to wages and public access to care.

“Patients suffer when experienced physicians are locked out of their own communities,” said Stephenson. “These clauses were meant to protect business goodwill, not to keep doctors from practicing medicine. It’s time for policymakers to finish what the FTC started.”

Dr. Stephenson is personally aware of several physicians who have been forced to relocate for the full duration of similar non-compete clauses, spending up to two years away from their homes, families, and established patient bases before they could return to practice. These restrictions not only disrupt the lives of physicians but also reduce access to care in the very communities that already face provider shortages.
